Kansas City, Mo. (May 9, 2003) — DATACORE Marketing, Inc., has been selected as the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce 2003 Small Business of the Year. DATACORE was selected from among a field of 100 companies as the winner of the Mr. K Award, named after the late Ewing M. Kauffman and representing his entrepreneurial spirit.
From the initial 100 companies who entered the Small Business of the Year competition, judges narrowed the field to the Top 10. Judging criteria included an increase in sales and number of employees, showing the commitment to good business practices, having outstanding employee relations and demonstrating a commitment to community service -- business practices that Kauffman promoted.
"We have a great group of employees who have allowed us to grow, and we have tremendous clients," Jeff Yowell, DATACORE’s president, said in response to DATACORE's selection. "We want to express our thanks to all who have contributed to our success."
